Stay on Copilot. Every training program we're running or starting this month is built on it.

Hi everyone,

When an enterprise client asks if they should buy Claude or ChatGPT, I say no. Stay on Copilot.

That surprises people, because I work in Claude and Codex every day.

Every training program we are running or starting this month is built on Copilot. All three of them.

It happened fast, and I think it tells you where bigger companies are going. They already pay for Microsoft. Their files already live in SharePoint and OneDrive. Their IT team already trusts it.

One client had picked Claude for the whole company. Then their IT lead wrote down the security risks they saw in agents. Leadership switched to Copilot the same day.

Microsoft caught up

Honestly, it shocked me how fast Microsoft caught up. I think they are going to take over.

What won me over is how the files connect. Copilot works across SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook and Teams. That is where the work already sits. Work IQ is the button that lets chat see that work data.

Notebooks are where I would start. They work like projects in Claude or ChatGPT. Since September 23 a notebook can hold Outlook emails and Teams meetings too. They sit right next to the files.

The models moved too. Claude now runs inside Copilot. Microsoft's own pricing post says "GPT-5.6 and Sonnet 5 are included" in the licence.

I have even thought, quietly, about moving my own company from Google Workspace to Microsoft. I haven't done it. I'm still thinking about it, though.

Why nobody finds the good parts

Two weeks ago I pulled 689 comments off the ten top Copilot videos on YouTube. The same confusion shows up again and again.

"I have Copilot PRO licenses. I do not see the option coworker."

"I have enabled Frontier, but still can't seem to find it."

And one with 11 likes: "Microsoft Copilot's features seem overly fragmented across different tiers, licenses, account types, and platforms."

They have a point. The first two have a real answer, and it is easy to miss.

Cowork runs long, multi-step jobs across your Microsoft apps, with your approval. Since its general release, access comes only from a spending policy in the admin center. Microsoft's docs are plain about it: "A policy with a limit of one credit still grants access."

So the policy is the on switch, and the limit is just a budget.

That leads to the second confusion, which is cost. Your licence covers chat and Copilot inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams. Cowork, Code and Autopilot are billed by usage on top of it.

The top comment under one workflow video has 47 likes. "I get it, but this is very expensive to run for each of your emails."

So set the budget before you switch it on, and start with a small group.

What the Microsoft Copilot licence covers, and what is billed by usage. In the per-user licence: Copilot Chat; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams; GPT-5.6 and Sonnet 5. Billed by usage, on top: Cowork, Code, Autopilot.

In most companies I talk to, the licence is already paid for. What's missing is the setup, and then the daily habit of opening it.

One thing to try this week

Open Copilot and make one notebook for a project you run every week.

Add the files. Then add the last few emails about it, and the last Teams meeting.

Ask it: "What changed on this project this week, and what is waiting on me?"

If you can't find Notebooks, send your IT team one question. Which Copilot licence do we have? They can see it in the admin center, under Billing, then Your products.

One thing to try this week. Prompt for a Copilot notebook: What changed on this project this week, and what is waiting on me? One notebook for a weekly project, holding its files, emails and last Teams meeting.

Before you go

Our single, In a New Life, is out now. You can listen to it here.

If you like this kind of music, save it on Spotify. Your support helps. We have more coming very soon.

Still no AI anywhere in it.

What is the one thing your team still can't get Copilot to do?

Hit reply and tell me. I read every reply. I'm planning a Copilot series on YouTube, and your answers will shape it.

Thanks for reading.
